Walks in the Woods Quilt Exhibit by Frieda Anderson

This exhibit is free and is open to the public Daily, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.: closed December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.

Frieda's original quilts are inspired by the everyday scenery that surrounds her and the colors of the mid-west landscape she lives in. She works with her own hand dyed cotton and silk fabrics. The dyeing process is always an adventure. The ways the dyed fabric look influence the rhythm of her work and the way she uses color in her pieces and often affects how she quilts her quilts. Trees and leaves are a big part of what influences her designs.

About the Artist: Frieda has been making quilts for over 40 years and is currently a BERNINA Ambassador working on the new BERNINA 770Q domestic home sewing machine. Frieda is also an instructor and author, having written several books, articles and publications on the fine art of quilting.

An artist reception will be hosted Sunday, December 9 from 1–3 p.m. at Lost Valley Visitor Center. Additional, smaller pieces will be for sale and light refreshments will be served.
