Special one day “Weekend of Restoration”: Restoring Land and Spirit

Experience the meaning of Restoration in all its definitions. Connect to nature, to community. Enjoy a night hike, morning tours, campfires, songs, a bit of history and science, a bit of reflection, restore nature and yourself. This award-winning program is a mini vacation that makes a difference!

Conservation and ecological restoration are two voices that play out in a much larger conversation about our place in nature. Do we care? If we care, why do we care? There are also people who work the land, people who need jobs, people who are hungry, people who grew up apart from nature—what about them? What is it about your connection or my connection with the natural world that makes conservation seem necessary?

In this special Weekend of Restoration event, we will try to understand the deeper connections between humans and nature that are alive in all of us, but find their way to the surface differently in each of us. We will investigate ecological spirituality through personal experiences and shared stories.

Saturday we will plant native oak trees and hazel shrubs as part of the ongoing restoration efforts at Glacial Park. For those who would like to participate in the Saturday evening campfire and avoid the late-night drive home, camping at Glacial Park is free, exclusively as part of this event.

Registration deadline April 13. Open to ages 16 and up.
