World Tai Chi and QiGong Day Celebration

World Tai Chi and QiGong Day Celebration:

April 29th, 2017 - 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

In the Historic Woodstock Square

112 N. Benton St. Woodstock, IL. 60098

World Tai Chi & QiGong Day began in Kansas City, Missouri in 1998 and is now in its 17th year with over 70 nations participating. On the last Saturday of April each year, this multi-national "healing wave" of people moving and breathing in harmony begins at 10 AM in New Zealand and spreads from time zone to time zone, finally concluding in Hawaii.

MoonWillow Tai Chi, The Woodstock Wellness Team and Young Masters Martial Arts & Fitness Studio will join this wave on April 29th, 2017, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the historic Woodstock Square. This event will offer, demonstrations, information and a free Tai Chi class for all participants.

The celebration will end with a Healing Circle then conclude in Young Masters studios in the Woodstock Square Mall for tours and refreshments.

Members of the Wellness team will be on hand with demonstrations and educational exhibitions.

This event is free and open to the public. (In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to MoonWillow Tai Chi's studios indoors)

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese health exercise that combines focused breath and slow martial arts movements.

It is considered "healing movement for every body" because it is a gentle and relaxing experience that is accessible to most people regardless of physical condition (there are even classes especially adapted to individuals in wheelchairs). Benefits of Tai Chi include improved balance, posture, bone density, blood pressure, sleep, digestion, and immunity. It also reduces chronic pain and improves cardiovascular and nervous system disorders.
